Mohammed Maysar Mohammed

is a board member of the Sama Organization for Psychological and Social Support and Human Rights, where he contributes to developing the organization's policies and implementing its programs to support survivors of human rights violations. Additionally, he serves as the Director of the Salah al-Din Governorate Office, working on monitoring and documenting human rights violations in the region, with a particular focus on providing psychological and social support to victims, especially the families of the forcibly disappeared. Mohammed Maysar has been a civil activist since 2017, beginning his journey in human rights advocacy after personally experiencing loss and violations. As a member of the families of the forcibly disappeared, he has endured the pain of losing loved ones in the context of armed conflict and severe human rights abuses in Iraq. This personal experience has driven him to dedicate his efforts to uncovering the fate of the disappeared and advocating for justice for their families. As the President of the Masir Network for Justice and Human Rights, Mohammed leads extensive efforts in transitional justice advocacy. He works on documenting cases of enforced disappearance, providing legal and psychological support to affected families, and mobilizing national and international efforts to seek justice and accountability.
